I shall not die but live and declare the deeds of the Lord. The Lord chastised me harshly, but did not hand me over to death. I thank you for you answered me; you have been my savior. The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the Lord has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice in it and be glad. Lord, grant salvation! Lord, grant good fortune! You are my God, I give you thanks; my God, I offer you praise. Give thanks to the Lord, who is good, whose love endures forever.

Psalm 118 continued – verses 17-18, 21-25, 28-29

Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:5:11

Remember your word to your servant by which you give me hope. This is my comfort in affliction, your promise that gives me life. Though the arrogant utterly scorn me, I do not turn from your teaching. When I recite your edicts of old I am comforted, Lord. Rage seizes me because of the wicked; they forsake your teaching. Your laws become my songs wherever I make my home. Even at night I remember your name in observance of your teaching, Lord. This is my good fortune, for I have observed your precepts.

Psalm 119 continued – verses 49-56

Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name give glory because of your faithfulness and love. Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Our God is in heaven; whatever God wills is done. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths but do not speak, eyes but do not see. They have ears but do not hear, noses but do not smell. They have hands but do not feel, feet but do not walk, and no sound rises from their throats. Their makers shall be like them, all who trust in them.

Psalm 115:1-8

Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands but heaven itself, that he might now appear before God on our behalf. Not that he might offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters each year into the sanctuary with blood that is not his own; if that were so, he would have had to suffer repeatedly from the foundation of the world. But now once for all he has appeared at the end of the ages to take away sin by his sacrifice. Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment, so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him.

Hebrews 9:24-28

All you peoples, clap your hands; shout to God with joyful cries. For the Lord, the Most High, inspires awe, the great king over all the earth, Who made people subject to us, brought nations under our feet, Who chose a land for our heritage, the glory of Jacob, the beloved. God mounts the throne amid shouts of joy; the Lord, amid trumpet blasts. Sing praise to God, sing praise. God is king over all the earth; sing hymns of praise. God rules over the nations; God sits upon his holy throne. The princes of the people assemble with the people of the God of Abraham. For the rulers of the earth belong to God, who is enthroned on high.

Psalm 47:1-10

Lord, avenging God, avenging God, shine forth! Rise up, judge of the earth; give the proud what they deserve. How long, Lord, shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked glory? How long will they mouth haughty speeches, go on boasting, all these evildoers? They crush your people, Lord, torment your very own. They kill the widow and alien; the fatherless they murder. They say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice.”

Psalm 94:1:7

Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. But I will show you a still more excellent way. If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.

I Corinthians 12:31, 13:1-3

We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made know to you the power and coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when that unique declaration came to him from the majestic glory, “This is my Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain.

II Peter 1:16-18

I am wearied with sighting; all night long tears drench my bed; my couch is soaked with weeping; My eyes are dimmed with sorrow, worn out because of my foes. Away from me, all who do evil! The Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my prayer; the Lord takes up my plea. My foes will be terrified and disgraced; all will fall back in sudden shame.
