Better the poverty of the just than the great wealth of the wicked.
The arms of the wicked will be broken; the Lord will sustain the just.

The Lord watches over the days of the blameless; their heritage lasts forever.
They will not be disgraced when times are hard; in days of famine they will have plenty.

The wicked borrow but do not repay; the just are generous in giving.
For those blessed by the Lord will possess the land, but those accursed will be cut off.

Turn from evil and do good, that you may inhabit the land forever. For the Lord loves justice and does not abandon the faithful. When the unjust are destroyed, and the children of the wicked cut off, the just will possess the land and live in it forever. The mouths of the just utter wisdom; their tongues speak what is right. God’s teaching is in their hearts; their steps do not falter.

Psalm 37 continued – verses 27-31

You are righteous, Lord, and just are your edicts. You have issued your decrees in justice and in surpassing faithfulness. I am consumed with rage, because my foes forget your words. Your servant loves your promise; it has been proved by fire. Though belittled and despised, I do not forget your precepts. Your justice is forever right, your teaching forever true. Though distress and anguish come upon me, your commands are my delight. Your decrees are forever just; give me discernment that I may live.

Psalm 119 continued – verses 137-144

And you who once were alienated and hostile in mind because of evil deeds he has now reconciled in his fleshly body through his death, to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before him, provided that you persevere in the faith, firmly grounded, stable, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, of which I Paul, am a minister.

Colossians 1:21-23

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, to Timothy my true child in faith: grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. I am grateful to him who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me trustworthy in appointing me to the ministry. I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and an arrogant man, but I have been mercifully treated because I acted out of ignorance in my unbelief.

I Timothy 1:1, 12-13

All who serve idols are put to shame, who glory in worthless things; all gods bow down before you. Zion hears and is glad, and the cities of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O Lord. You, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods. The Lord loves those who hate evil, protects the lives of the faithful, rescues them from the hand of the wicked. Light dawns for the just; gladness for the honest of heart. Rejoice in the Lord, you just, and praise his holy name.

Psalm 97 continued – verses 7-12

Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds! Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds! Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the Lord! Rely on the mighty Lord; constantly seek his face. Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment, You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob, the chosen one! The Lord is our God who rules the whole earth. He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousands generations.

Psalm 105:1-8

Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you considers himself wise in this age, let him become a fool so as to become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God, for it is written: “He catches the wise in their own ruses,” and again: “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.”

I Corinthians 3:16-20

Hear my voice, Lord, when I call; have mercy on me and answer me. “Come,” says my heart, “seek God’s face;” your face, Lord, do I seek. Do not hide your face from me; do not repel your servant in anger. You are my help; do not cast me off; do not forsake me, God my Savior! Even if my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will take me in.

Psalm 27 continued – verses 7-10

Do not be yoked with those who are different, with unbelievers. For what partnership do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What accord has Christ with Beliar? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said: “I will live with them and move among them, and I will be their God and they shall be my people.”

II Corinthians 6:14-16

Be still before the Lord; wait for God Do not be provoked by the prosperous, nor by malicious schemers. Give up your anger, abandon your wrath; Do not be provoked; it brings only harm. Those who do evil will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord will possess the land.
