Do not reprove me in your anger, Lord, nor punish me in your wrath.

Have pity on me, Lord, for my bones are trembling.

In utter terror is my soul – and you, Lord, how long …?

Turn, Lord, save my life; in your mercy rescue me.

For who among the dead remembers you? Who praises you in Sheol?

Lord, my heart is not proud; nor are my eyes haughty. I do not busy myself with great matters, with things too sublime for me. Rather, I have stilled my soul, hushed it like a weaned child. Like a weaned child on its mother’s lap, so is my soul within me. Israel, hope in the Lord, now and forever.

Psalm 131

Praise the name of the Lord! Praise, you servants of the Lord, who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God! Praise the Lord; the Lord is good! Sing to God’s name; it is gracious! For the Lord has chosen Jacob, Israel as a treasured possession. I know that the Lord is great, our Lord is greater than all gods. Whatever the Lord wishes he does in heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all the deeps. He raises storm clouds from the end of the earth, makes lightning and rain, brings forth wind from the store-house.

Psalm 135:1-7

Where can I hide from your spirit? From your presence, where can I flee? If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I lie down in Sheol, your are there too. If I fly with the wings of dawn and alight beyond the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand hold me fast. If I say, “Surely darkness shall hide me, and night shall be my light” – Darkness is not dark for you, and night shines as the day. Darkness and light are but one. You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise you, so wonderfully you made me; wonderful are your works! My very self you knew; my bones were not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, fashioned as in the depths of the earth. Your eyes foresaw my actions; in your book all are written down; my days were shaped, before one came to be.

Psalm 139: 7-16

Bless the Lord, my soul! Lord, my God, you are great indeed! You are clothed with majesty and glory, robed in light as with a cloak. You spread out the heavens like a tent; you raised your palace upon the waters. You make the clouds your chariot; you make the winds your messengers; flaming fire your ministers. You fixed the earth on its foundation, never to be moved.

Psalm 104:1-5

Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who stand in the house of the Lord through the long hours of the night. Lift up your hands toward the sanctuary, and bless the Lord. May the Lord who made heaven and earth bless you from Zion.

Psalm 134

My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge. Trust God at all times, my people! Pour out your hearts to God our refuge. Mortals are a mere breath, and the powerful but an illusions; On a balance they rise; together they are lighter than air. Do not trust in extortion; in plunder put no empty hope. Though wealth increase, do not set your heart upon it. One thing God has said; two things I have heard: power belongs to God; so too, Lord, does kindness, and you render to each of us according to our deeds.

Psalm 62 continued – verses 8-13

Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you considers himself wise in this age, let him become a fool so as to become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God, for it is written: “He catches the wise in their own ruses,” and again: “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.”

I Corinthians 3:16-20

Answer when I call, my saving God. In my troubles, you cleared a way; show me favor; hear my prayer. Know that the Lord works wonders for the faithful; the Lord hears when I call out. Tremble and do not sin; upon your beds ponder in silence. Offer fitting sacrifice and trust in the Lord. But you have given my heart more joy than they have when grain and wine abound. In peace I shall both lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me secure.

Psalm 4:2, 4-6, 8-9

I will bless the Lord at all times; praise shall be always in my mouth. My soul will glory in the Lord that the poor may hear and be glad. Magnify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, who answered me, delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 34:2-5

I will extol you, my God and king; I will bless your name forever. Every day I will bless you; I will praise your name forever. Great is the Lord and worthy of high praise; God’s grandeur is beyond understanding. One generation praises your deeds to the next and proclaims your mighty works. They speak of the splendor of your majestic glory, tell of your wonderful deeds. They speak of your fearsome power and attest to your great deeds. They publish the renown of your abounding goodness and joyfully sing of your justice. The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love. The Lord is good to all, compassionate to every creature.
