Jesus was a masterful story teller. It was by means of stories that He taught people how to follow in His footsteps.

Each week Father Charles Krieg, C.M., a Vincentian priest, will tell you a story. Some might bring a smile to your face; others might bring a tear to your eyes. But each story should bring a thought to your mind and a prayer to your lips. Each story should help you to spend a few minutes in prayerful reflection on how you can follow Jesus.

Story: Questions?

A newspaper which carries a daily column designed to answer readers’ questions listed the top ten unanswerable questions. Here is one: “I am nine years old and have a cat that eats too much and needs to go on a diet. The problem is that she eats mice when she is out. My question is: How many calories are there in a mouse?”

Prayer

Dear Jesus, you also asked questions. We read in Scripture that when you were lost, your parents found you in the Temple sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Jesus, you asked many questions during your life, but perhaps the biggest and most important was the question you asked of Peter: “Who do you say that I am?” Jesus, if you were to ask me that same question today, I would answer it in this way: You are my Savior and Redeemer, but most of all you are my very dear friend and companion. Thank you for being so close to me. Thank you for being my friend. I just hope and pray that I can always be a GOOD friend!
Amen
