Novena of Masses for Healing

Our Lady of Angels Association will be celebrating a NOVENA OF MASSES FOR HEALING. The Novena will begin on the Feast of The Assumption of Our Blessed Mother, August 15th, with a Mass celebrated in the Basilica of Our Lady of Victory, located in Lackawanna (outside Buffalo, New York.)

The Association is beginning its Novena of Masses for Healing in the Basilica of Our Lady of Victory to celebrate the memory of Father Nelson H. Baker, who on January 14, 2011, was declared "Venerable" by Pope Benedict XVI.  Father Baker attended the Seminary of Our Lady of Angels and was ordained a priest on March 19, 1876.  Because of his life-long efforts to serve the poor and abandoned, Father Baker, like St. Vincent de Paul, was giving the name "Padre of the Poor.

So many people today have a need for healing - for oneself or for a loved one.  This need might be for a spiritual, psychological, physical sickness or problem.  This is why Our Lady of Angels Association is offering this Novena of Masses - to ask Mary to plead with her divine Son to bring healing to those who are in need.  Mary will intercede for us with her deep maternal love.

I invite you to send me your petitions for healing so that they can be included in our Novena of Masses for Healing (beginning August 15th and ending August 23rd). If you are able to send an offering, it will be used as a "helping hand" for the many needy individual and families who are begin assisted through charitable programs supported by Vincentian Charities.
